Some Brides may have 2 wedding gowns. Very rarely does a budget bride have 2 dresses. But you know what a budget bride can have 2 of?
2 pairs of shoes!
I had two pairs of shoes on my wedding day and I loved having both pairs.
A couple of months before the wedding during a dress fitting with Tina, (the lady who was making alterations to my dress) I was told that I needed to bring my wedding shoes with me to the next appointment. But I hadn’t bought them yet! So a hastily planned shopping trip with my Mum was arranged to get my shoes.
I went out with the intention to buy blue or gold shoes as my colour scheme was Navy Blue and Gold so I wanted shoes to match (this decision was also made in part due to struggling to find a pair of “bridal shoes” that I really liked). My Mum is incredibly traditional and really struggled with the idea of me having non white/cream/ivory shoes; however after quite a lot of persistence from me she did come round to the idea of gold shoes. Although this didn’t stop her from pointing out cream coloured shoes as we went round the shops! *eye roll*
To cut a longish story a little shorter both pairs were purchased in Debenhams.
Kitten Heels: Debut £32.00
Flats: Dune £25.00
Both pairs for less than many people buy 1 pair and although I’m biased I think they’re simple stunning shoes. They worked perfectly with my dress and with my overall personal style.
The plan was for me to wear the kitten heels until the reception but in all honestly I’m a flats girl through and through so I ended up changing from the heels into the flats part way through the after ceremony wedding pictures and kept the flats on for the rest of the day.
The great thing about choosing non bridal shop shoes for your day is that you can wear them again if you want to. I actually wore the kitten keels to my work Christmas party.
If love to learn about your shoes, tell me all about them in the comments.
